Fred's Party: the first Sunday of the Season
Next event: Autumn - Sunday, 1 March 2026

Fred's Party is a simple, fone-free community gathering being created and promoted outside of social media. It's all about giving people the chance to switch off from screens and enjoy time together the old-fashioned way.

Join us on on the first Sunday of the season from 1pm - 5pm at Yarrawarra Aboriginal Cultural Centre for an afternoon of deviceless connection.  Fred's party is a drug and alcohol free event. Entry is free!

What to expect? Fred's Party is evolving and it is what we make of it, together. At past events, guests have enjoyed board games, created art, played music together and taken part in active games like volleyball and corn hole.

What to bring? There are plenty of spaces to sit, but a picnic rug is always nice. There will be no food vendors on site so please bring your own sustenance for the afternoon. You might also wish to bring something to contribute to the event. Some ideas: a book to read without interruptions, a musical instrument to play alongside other guests, a boardgame or activity to share, maybe some fresh produce you can't get through from your garden? Or just bring yourself and be open to connection with other like-minded individuals.

Your community hopes to see you there!
